Amazing Recipes! from Previous Chef Presentations
Meet the Farmer, Meet the Chef - learn how the Farmer grew the featured produce, watch the Chef prepare it, and taste the results. Free Buy Fresh and Buy Local as you experience seasonal locally grown fruits and vegetables presented by the Keauhou Farmers Market Farmers and featured Regional Chefs. "What is it? Who grew it? and What do you do with it?" The program merges the knowledge of the farmer and chef and offers it to the community and visitors. It also supports our local farming community in a consumer based educational program that focuses on new foods and locally grown agricultural products and product applications. Consumers share their experiences and educate others to grow and help sustain agriculture and eat locally grown food - wherever they live. We honor Hawaii's people and it's rich cultural resources of the land and sea by buying locally and eating fresh. The local farmers benefit by the knowledge the consumer has gained regarding locally grown products and their purchasing power at farmers markets and roadside stands. The consumer benefits from knowing how to use the locally grown products, how they came to the market, and how to use them in their everyday lives. The Regional Chef benefits by being able to purchase locally grown products and feature them on their menus representing Hawaii - all helping to support the local farming community.
